Wigan Warriors Community Foundation will be hosting touch rugby league trials on Saturday, July 6 from 2-4pm.
The trials, which are open to male and female participants aged 14+, will take place at Robin Park Arena (WN5 0UH) home of the newly crowned Challenge Cup winners, Wigan Warriors.
A spokesman from the club advised that trialists must bring boots, trainers and a water bottle.
Ahead of the trials Rugby League Development Manager, John Whalley, said: “This is the next progression from a very successful social touch rugby programme, that we run through our Community Foundation.
“We are excited that we can now look at operating a competitive touch rugby team built on a solid foundation. I encourage our social, new and returning players to attend.”
Touch Rugby lead, Kevin Hattersley, added: “We have the opportunity to offer competitive touch to existing social players and also players from the wider community that wish to play competitively.
“The competitive squad is a natural progression from the social session as we now have quite a lot of numbers participating. it will be great to add to our adults and juniors that have played competitively at National level in 2024 and juniors in the England touch High Performance Programme.”
