The charity held a bucket collection on Saturday ahead of kick-off, writes Saad Nazir.

On Saturday, November 29, 2025, football took a backseat at a venue that has been home to countless moments of passion and pride.

Ahead of the 12:30 pm kick-off against Barnsley, residents of SK3 got a chance to support older residents in the local community.

The charity, which has been providing practical support, advice, and social activities since 1985, aims to help people stay active, connected, and valued as they age.

All funds raised went directly to community engagement initiatives, including activities run through its Stockport hub.

The generosity of those who found themselves at Edgeley Park last weekend helped Age UK Stockport make a real difference in the lives of older people across the borough.
