Amongst stiff competition, Ollie Norwood has emerged as the fans’ best player for September, writes Saad Nazir.
Chosen by supporters, the award reflects the immense value their skipper brings to the well-drilled side. The 34-year-old started all four matches in this period, scoring twice and assisting Kyle Wootton’s winner away at Rotherham.
Wootton was also short-listed along with Odin Bailey, both recognised for their telling contributions in the Hatters’ climb into the top-four at the end of last week’s fixtures.
No player in League One has created more chances than the midfielder’s 25 so far. However, Norwood’s impact extends far beyond numbers. The way he keeps the team ticking and lifts up the performances of those around him underlines why he is the skipper. He is the glue that keeps them together and remains the heartbeat of this team. Always communicating, providing passing outlets to teammates, it is a surprise that this is the first time he has won the award since joining the Club from Sheffield United last season.
Mercurial winger, Jack Diamond had won the award for the month of August.
