Eric Cantona becomes joint owner of FC United

It was a special day at Broadhurst Park as former Manchester United legend Eric Cantona became a Co-Owner of FC United. The Red Rebels reportedly hosted a private event with none other than the great Frenchman who spent several hours with the club.

Reports were that the Manchester great was warm, curious and incredibly supportive of what the club stand for – enjoying his time in the club house. Officials said he took a lot of interest in the club and spent a lot of time learning about the club’s journey, values and the club’s mission of doing football differently By signing on the dotted line to become a co-owner – it’s fair to say that he loved everything about the club.

Not only did Cantona sign for the club but he has also signed up all four of his children and his two brothers which shows the commitment the former footballer wants to make towards towards the club and everything it represents.

Eric also agreed to contribute to the club by always being in touch – establishing an ongoing relationship with the club. The club said it will be having some conversations with him in the weeks ahead to see what the future holds.

The club gratefully recognised Nick Boom, Tim Worrall, Jules Spencer, Nigel Brookes and James Quinn for their hard work over the past few months in making the big event a reality.

It was a big moment for the club as a having a new co-owner of such high-esteem for many fans in Manchester cemented a day to remember in the club’s history.
