A first team coach has stepped away and a anticipated signing falling through — these have been two pieces of back office news for a Manchester based sports club in the last 48 hours.
“New signing Saul Milovanovic will no longer be joining the club after accepting a full time scouting role which means he won’t be able to commit to playing,” said a spokesman from Wythenshawe Town Football Club.
This was soon followed up by another announcement about first team coach Matt Hughes.
The club stated that Hughes would be ‘taking a step back’ due to family and work commitments.
The club elaborated with more detail as a spokesman said: “His wife has recently had a baby and at the moment doesn’t feel he can commit 100%.
“Non league football is very demanding and requires a huge level of commitment.
“We have excellent coaching staff here at the club and we will look to fill the void left from his departure.”
The club thanked Hughes for his work last season adding, “Hughesy is a top level coach who was instrumental in our success last season .
“He will be sorely missed but we are hoping to have him back in the near future.”
