Bury FC began the busy schedule this weekend as they went away to face Newcastle Town for the NPL West game, writes Rizki Ramadhan Putra
This would be the first of four games in a busy 14-day Christmas period. With momentum slowly building, the Shakers will be looking to set the tone early for their crucial fixture.
Tim Lees will continue in charge for the remainder of the season. Proving this clarity and stability for Bury FC for the longer-term campaign. The player also responded positively in their last game, edging a 2-1 victory over Mossley at Gigg Lane.

That win was built on persistence and belief. After an early lead and the away team scoring, the game ended in a 1-1 draw in the first half. Then, Gavin Massey nodded home a late header from close range to secure all three points.

The Opponent – Newcastle Town
Newcastle Town is currently in difficult form. The hosts are without a win in five matches and heavily defeated 5-0 by Bootle in their recent game.
Founded in 1964, Newcastle Town have been a consistent presence at this level since the 2010/11 season, following their North West Counties League title success. They made an immediate impact by reaching the play-off semi-finals in their debut campaign and have largely settled into mid-table finishes in recent years, placing between 14th and 16th across the last four seasons. Their proud history also includes an FA Vase semi-final appearance back in 1999/2000.
