FC United has signed Daeshon Lawrence on short loan from Bolton Wanderer, writes Jovan Radjawane.
On Tuesday, December 2, FC United of Manchester’s squad was reinforced with the arrival of a young talent from Bolton Wanderers FC, named Daeshon Lawrence. The 19-year-old attacker will spend one month at Broadhurst Park. FC United stated that Lawrence will be available in the upcoming fixtures, including the match against Cleethorpes Town FC on this Saturday.
Daeshon Lawrence made his debut in April this year. He was called to the field in the 78th minute to replace Szabolcs Schön in an away match against Peterborough last season. One week later, Manager Steven Schumacher gave him more minutes. In The Trotters’s last match of the 2024-2025 season against Stevenage, Lawrence was deployed as a substitute for Aaron Collins in the 60th minute.
This season, Lawrence hasn’t played a single minute in League One. He was only featured in the cup competition, during this time. In the match against Sheffield Wednesday at in the Carabao Cup, he was subbed off after playing as a starter for thirty minutes. Then, in the Vertu Trophy game between Oldham Athletic and Bolton Wanderers in November, he started to play in the 88th minute, although The Trotters were dominating the match.

Some fans are hoping this short loan spell will help Lawrence’s development. Besides the possibility of getting more minutes at FC United, the of pressure in FC United is lower than at Bolton Wanderers. Expectations in the non-league aren’t as high as teams who are competing in the EFL.
Lawrence isn’t the first Bolton Wanderer’s player to be loaned out to FC United. Before the start of the season, FC United made a deal with Wanderers to loan defender Ajay Weston. Just like Lawrence, Weston’s loan spell will end in January.
