Wythenshawe Town came back from 1-3 down to win an intense game against Glossop North End in the Manchester Premier Cup on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, at Ericstan Park, writes Christian James.
Chris Willcock, Wythy Town’s coach made a few changes from the last match to start the game against Glossop North End. Astley Mulholland, Conor Lewis, Nathan Whalley, Dan Dolling, and Wealth Dasilva all of whom started the game against Darlaston Town started this game from the bench.
This decision by Chris Willcock was clear to rest some players because Wythy Town have another match in the Northern Premier League this weekend against Nantwich.
Wythy Town started slowly, conceding in the sixth minute and trailing 2-0 after 21 minutes. This was clearly the last thing that Wythy Town wanted because they must make a comeback now. Despite the early lead by Glossop North End, Wythy Town pulled one back with a goal by Demi Rhami, then Glossop North End closed the first-half by adding one more goal to make it 3-1 for the away side.
Wythy Town now had to make a comeback if they wanted to win this game. Changes had to be made whether a change of gameplay or by bringing on players.
Chris Willcock made changes by subbing on five fresh players to start the second-half. This decision paid off as the substitutes made an instant impact on the pitch. The second-half was magical for Wythy Town as they scored three goals in 15 minutes to comeback and lead the game 4-3, thanks to a brace by Kobe McWilliams and Demi Rhami’s second goal.
After taking the lead, Wythy Town comfortably control the game. Another blow hit Glossop North End as Ethan Sutcliffe was sent off in the 88th minute. It became harder for the away side to comeback as they were playing with ten men.
Wythy Town put an exclamation point by adding the fifth goal scored by Wealth Dasilva to finish the incredible comeback from 1-3 down to a 5-3 win.
