Daisy Hill FC have officially announced their return to home fixtures after confirming the completion of repair work on the main stand at Ginge Power Stadium, writes Yahya Nugroho.
The club, competing in the North West Counties Football League First Division North, will welcome Thornton Cleveleys this Saturday in what is expected to be a highly anticipated match-up.
The announcement was made via the club’s official Instagram account, where Daisy Hill expressed relief and excitement after weeks of uncertainty surrounding their ability to host home fixtures. The standalone post featured an image of a Daisy Hill player in full stride, symbolizing the team’s readiness to step back onto home turf.
According to the club, the structural repairs on the stand—previously deemed unsafe for spectators—have now been completed, allowing matchday operations to proceed as normal. The club extended its gratitude to supporters for their patience throughout the renovation process.
“We’re back in action at home!” the club posted.
“The repairs have been completed on the stand and we’re able to host matches. We’ll host Thornton Cleveleys at home this Saturday, so get down and support the lads!”
The upcoming fixture carries added significance for Daisy Hill. Beyond the on-field implications, the match represents a symbolic reopening of their stadium, restoring the vital connection between players and fans. Home support has historically played a crucial role for the Cutters, and Saturday’s match will mark the first opportunity in weeks for the local community to rally behind their side.
Thornton Cleveleys, meanwhile, arrive with ambitions of their own, looking to disrupt Daisy Hill’s plans and push up the league table. With both teams eager for points, the stage is set for a competitive encounter.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Saturday, 29 November, and Daisy Hill officials are encouraging supporters to arrive early as attendance is expected to rise following the reopening of the stand.
As the Cutters prepare to step back onto familiar ground, the club hopes the renewed atmosphere at Ginge Power Stadium will spark a strong performance and provide momentum for the second half of their league campaign.
