Match preview: Bury FC faces Witton Albion in key NPL West fixture

Bury FC will travel to Cheshire for the next fixture of Northern Premier League West, to face Witton Albion on Saturday afternoon, November 22, writes Rizki Ramadhan Putra.

The Shakers look forward to the match after a 1-2 victory against Darlaston Town in the previous away game on Wednesday evening. Oskar Therkeld’s goal before the stoppage time and Kai Evans’s before the hour mark were enough to seal the three points.

This is the first league game between Witton Albion and Bury FC. The last time they met was in the FA Cup 1992, when then a Conference side came to Gigg Lane for the first round with a tie and were beaten 2-0, scored by Alan Knill and Liam Robinson.

The Opposition – Witton Albion

This November, Witton have played three games so far, with one won, one drawn, and one lost. They currently sit in the 16th position, having won four from their opening 18 games. They also have five drawn of their opening nine league home games.

It’s their fourth season at this division level after a relegation from Step 3. Former Shakers players included are Harry Brazel and Joe Duckworth within the Witton team.
