In the first-half, Rochdale AFC got a yellow card in the 28th minute where Kevin Berkeo committed a foul. McNutty’s side didn’t score any goal until the end of the first half. But in the next six minutes, viewers got a goal — just not from Rochdale.

The home side struck when Ollie Pearce scored 1-0. Here we got a substitute from the Dale as Connor McBride replaced Tyler Smith in the 38th minute.

Within one minute after the substitution, Rochdale AFC struck a goal back for the game to go 1-1. On this occasion, Tobi Adebayo-Rowling scored for James McNutty’s side. The score was level again just before the end of the first-half as it ended with a hard-fought equalised score of 1-1.

In the second-half, Rochdale AFC did not get time to settle back into the game, as York City scored the second goal of the match through Josh Stones in the 46th minute, making it 2-1. Soon after, Josh Stones struck once again with a goal in the 49th minute of the match, making it 3-1 — a big mountain to climb for the Dale to gather three points.

But the home side was clear with its intentions. In the 59th minute, they struck once again with a goal for 4-1. This time Ollie scored once again. The deficit raised to three goals, and the Dale were under a mountain now. McNutty brought changes to the playing XI, but nothing worked for them, as they failed to score any goal in the second 45 minutes.

The final whistle resulted in a humiliating defeat for the Dale. As the league race gets closer, games are getting more intense. Now the upcoming fixture is important for McNutty’s side to fight back for the throne.
