Manchester Storm capped a formidable outing away from home this past Sunday against the red-hot Dundee Stars, writes James Gabriel.

The Manchester-based sub-zero squad won 4-1, thanks to an amazing performance from Joseph Nardi, who bagged two goals.

The game leaned heavily on the goaltenders early on. As the team from Manchester leaned heavily on the defensive prowess of Drew Deridder, who put in an absolute class of a performance. He notched 41 saves and allowed just one goal.

The game changed its complexion from being a grind-out defensive game. The situation escalated in the 13th minute as Dallas Ehrhardt and Jackson Desouza exchanged heated blows, resulting in a five-minute penalty for both players for fighting.

This was a pivotal moment for the Storm, who, after the heated blows, gained momentum. They created a lot of chances, finally earning a breakthrough in the 19th minute. Brandon Cutler placed a beautiful pass to a wide-open Joseph Nardi for the first goal of the match

After the first intermission, the Dundee Stars were able to restore parity. An amazing sequence of play between Justin Bean and Keanu Yamamoto, resulted in a great assist for Morten Jurgens in the 24th minute.

But the parity did not last long. Kaleb Ergang capitalised on the error by Matt Berry, who quickly cut back and found the trailing Joseph Nardi for his second goal in the 33rd minute.

The second goal by Nardi was a gut-punch for the trailing Stars after the second period. Coming out of the second intermission, the Stars were sloppy and failed to be a threat.

But the same cannot be said for the guys in Manchester, as they quickly stormed and created two more goals in the 43rd and the 58th minute, courtesy of Stephen Johnson and Lauren Ullet.

This win will see them be in great spirits as they will return into action for their Challenge Cup fixture against the Sheffield Steelers at home.
