Bury FC extended their six-game winning streak in the league in a row after hosting Wythenshawe Town, 5-2, at Gigg Lane on Tuesday night, October 14.

A sensational first-half hat-trick from DJ Pedro and a brace from Rustam Stepans sealed the points before the hour mark, maintaining the Shakers’ charge at the top of the table, writes Rizki Ramadhan Putra.

The home crowd of 2,742 barely had time to settle before Pedro opened the scoring after just six minutes. He calmly slotted it into the bottom corner following a well-weighted ball into the box.

Four minutes later, Stepans doubled the lead advantage with a thunderous strike from the edge of the area after fine work down the right from Bebeto Gomes and Cameron Fogerty.

Bury’s momentum continues. In the 30th minute, Kieran Glynn played a delightful through ball for Pedro, who finished with composure past the Wythenshawe keeper for his second goal of the night.

And three minutes later, Pedro scored again in the right time at the right place, tucking home to complete his hat-trick inside 28 minutes. The Gigg Lane roared as the Shakers entered the break 4-0, replicating the ruthless attacking display they produced against Chasetown last weekend.

The second half began much like the first, with Stepans grabbing his second of the game in the 54th minute, reacting quickest to a loose ball in the box and firing home to make it 5-0.

Wythenshawe refused to go quietly. Dylan Woods pulled one back with a superb free-kick in the 74th minute before the visitors added a second five minutes later. By then, the damage had long been done.

Bury saw out the game comfortably to claim another emphatic home victory, extending their unbeaten run and tightening their grip near the summit of the league.

Man of the Match, deservedly, went to DJ Pedro, whose blistering hat-trick set the tone for another memorable night at Gigg Lane. Next up for the Shakers: a trip to the West Midlands to face Sporting Khalsa. The momentum couldn’t be stronger.
