It was a fifth consecutive win for The Dale which saw them back in play to become potential title claimers. The Crown Oil Arena once again provided a win to James McNulty’s XI with a strong win against a Solihull Moors’ visit which saw them leave with no points on the National League table.
The match took place on Tuesday night in the Crown Oil Arena, which Rochdale has turned into a fortress recently. Here, once again, fans witnessed a high-scoring match where the ball went to the back of the net five times, in a match that finished 4-1 to the hosts. The Dale managed to put away four despite Emmanuel Dieseruvwe resting for future fixtures.

During the first 45 minutes, impressive attacking football was seen, as the Dale controlled the flow of the game with five midfielders as a tactic. They quickly created a few good chances which instantly paid-off, as within the first ten minutes, The Dale scored the first goal.
After a deflected shot back to Ryan East, he then made it right and finished for the home side. Rochdale AFC hit an early lead in just the eighth minute, to go ahead 1-0.
It just took nine more minutes to multiply the scorecard. Impressive on-pitch chemistry was observed from Ethan Ebanks to Tobi Adebay, who exchanged the ball with Kyron Gordon, before he assisted it back to Ryan East. A decent cross in the 17th minute stretched the foot of East and bang, it was 2-0 in the 17th minute for Rochdale AFC.

The match soon resumed, and James McNulty’s side struck again. This time, Devante Rodney increased his tally. McBride cleared the defence line, and a beautiful pass to Rodney scored the third for the home side. Inside the 20th minute, Rochdale AFC were leading 3-0. It looked to be a massive deficit for the Moors to overcome, all in the first 45 minutes.
The second-half started with a yellow card showing for Jamey Osborne of Solihull Moors. Once again, McBride provided another selfless assist to Sam Beckwith of the Dale. At the 50th minute, Rochdale AFC was 4-0, while the Moors were still struggling to find one.
In the 55th minute, the Moors brought Callum McFarlane onto the pitch. It took just took him five minutes to reduce the deficit for the visitors and make an impact for the visitors.
Cameron Green’s shot was deflected by Oliver Whitemore, and he went down, but the defender did not relinquish control. Solihull scored, and the scoreboard ticked over to 4-1, which was still a three-goal deficit for the Moors.
Ryan East tried a decent shot for his third one but was denied by the keeper. No more goals were scored by either side as the match ended with a 4-1 score. Dale’s fifth consecutive win gave them winning momentum for upcoming clashes against Carlisle (third at the table) and Forest Green (first at the table).
