World champion boxer Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton was found dead in his Greater Manchester residence on Sunday.
One of the region’s best-loved boxers has died.
The Stockport-born fighter Ricky Hatton was 46 years old when he passed away. A police cordon was in place at his home in Gee Cross, Hyde on Saturday morning (September 14) reported Manchester Evening News.

Mr Hatton, who would have turned 47 in October, endeared himself to a wide range of fans after he spoke openly about his struggles with mental health and drug addiction.
He survived suicide attempts and overcame an fall out with his family who he made up with after addressing his own mental health.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called by a member of the public to attend Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside, at 6:45am today where they found the body of a 46-year-old man. There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
