Salford City signs new keeper: A game-changer for League Two

With the League Two season starting in just a few days, teams are finalizing their squads.

Salford City have completed the signing of experienced goalkeeper Mark Howard ahead of their League Two opener, adding leadership and depth between the posts, writes Baraa Mohammed.

The 38-year-old shot-stopper joins The Ammies on a free transfer after leaving Wrexham at the end of last season.

Howard, who brings over 350 career appearances across the EFL and Scottish Premiership, is expected to provide both competition and mentorship within Salford’s goalkeeping unit.

He featured heavily in Wrexham’s promotion-winning campaign in 2022–23 and has previously had spells with Sheffield United, Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers, and Carlisle United.
