Shot from the spot proves to be the difference maker

A penalty conversion was all that separated two teams in a match earlier this evening, (Wednesday, July 17).

Avro FC welcomed Guiseley AFC to The Vestacare Stadium and ended up playing with ten men after a player was sent off in the first-half for a hand balling offence.
The resulting penalty saw Will Longbottom convert from the spot for the visitors to put them up 1-0 at the break.

The score would stay at this result until the final whistle as both teams had several scrappy chances but the nets remained further unblemished.

Officials from both sides said that it was a good work out for their respective squads.

Avro will next travel to Abbey Hey on Saturday as they continue their pre-season (kick-off 3pm).
