Talking about a Revolution: Wheelchair basketball

The Manchester Revolution Wheelchair Basketball Club is providing an opportunity for disabled individuals of all ages and skill levels to play an enjoyable sport.

This club, firmly rooted in the belief that sport can foster independence and enhance everyday skills, is more than just a sports club as it provides opportunities for people to be a part of a team.

The club finished third in the National League for the 2023/2024 season and were premiers the year as they demonstrated an ability to compete in the upper echelons of the sport.

The Manchester Revolution were originally formed in 1992 as the Manchester YMCA Mavericks before going on to cement a partnership with Manchester Giants professional basketball club in 2018.
This venture saw them become Manchester the Giants Mavericks before becoming Manchester Revolution in September 2022 after merging with The Owls DSC.

Located at Bellevue Sports Village in Manchester, the club’s programme is run by qualified coaches using specialist equipment and custom basketball wheelchairs.

Wheelchair basketball is a fantastic sport which encourages improvements in physical and mental well-being.
