Brazilian shot stopper the latest signing for team ‘looking to strengthen in all areas of the squad’

A Brazilian goalkeeper who came through the academy at Benfica is a Manchester team’s latest signing ahead of the 2024/2025 campaign.

Andre Mendes joins FC United of Manchester from Lancaster for the upcoming season after originally being expected to turn out for Bury FC after an announcement back in March.

Mendes was previously at Morecambe and will now strengthen Neil Reynolds squad for the 2024/2025 run.

FC United of Manchester manager Neil Reynolds said: “We’re looking to strengthen all areas in the squad and André has done really well and settled in during the first few sessions.
“He’s a great character in the dressing room, and brings height and physicality to the defence imposing presence especially at set pieces.”
