The first-half was a tight affair. Dave McNabb’s men controlled possession and moved the ball confidently, but without creating the clear openings needed to punish their opponents.
Meanwhile, Lower Breck remained patient, compact, and threatening on the counter. Making it goalless at halftime.
The breakthrough came in the 75th minute against the run of play. A loose ball in midfield allowed Breck’s Jordan Barrow to pass, and he was released by Alex Cherera, who broke into space before sliding the ball past Mitch Allen to give the visitors the lead.
Five minutes later, the visitors doubled the lead. It was a shock for the Shakers, as Elliot Hughes shot the ball on the edge of the box and curled a precise finish beyond Allen to make it 0-2.
Bury pushed until the final whistle, but the loss extends. Lower Breck’s impressive performance leaves the Shaker with a difficult task as they continue to push their top of the NPL West table.
The club gives the Man of the Match to Cam Fogerty, sponsored by Beacon Commercial Solutions.
